Elections

Elections to the public and staff governor positions on the QVH board of governors take place annually, ready for new governors to begin their term of office on 1 July. Each eligible member of the foundation trust is entitled to vote. Formal notices of the nomination and elections processes, and the results, are published on this website.

Each eligible member will receive ballot papers by post. At present, QVH does not offer e-voting facilities. An independent election scrutineer is appointed to oversee each election on behalf of the trust.

You don't need qualifications or specific experience to be a governor, just commitment, some spare time and a genuine interest in working with the hospital to provide the best services for patients. Read the profiles of some of our current governors to find out more about them and what they enjoy about their role. For more information about eligibility and what to do if you are interested in standing for election in 2012, please contact our Engagement Coordinator on 01342 414200, claire.charman@qvh.nhs.uk
