Cleft lip and palate

QVH is one of the major units in the South Thames cleft lip and palate service and provides specialist services for children and adults with this condition. Treatment and care is provided by a multi-disciplinary team including consultant plastics surgeons, orthodontists, specialist dentists and nurses and speech and language therapists.

Our clinical specialist nurse for cleft lip and palate, Sue Butcher, is the first point of contact for the cleft service at antenatal or birth diagnosis and supports patients and their families, especially through the first 18 months.
